He spent four decades as a scientist and science administrator, mainly at the\u00a0Defense Research and Development Organisation\u00a0(DRDO) and\u00a0Indian Space Research Organisation\u00a0(ISRO) and was intimately involved in India&#8217;s civilian space program and military\u00a0missile development efforts.\u00a0He thus came to be known as the\u00a0<strong><em>Missile Man of India<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0for his work on the development of<em>\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>ballistic missile<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><em>launch<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> vehicle<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>\u00a0technology<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0He also played a pivotal organizational, technical and political role in India&#8217;s\u00a0<strong><em>Pokhran-II<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>nuclear tests in 1998, the first since the\u00a0original nuclear test by India\u00a0in 1974. This eminent scientist and engineer also served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He was a man of vision, who was always full of ideas aimed at the development of the country. He firmly believed that India needs to play a more assertive role in international affairs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He believed that the education system should instill in the minds of students capacities of inquiry, creativity, technology, entrepreneurial and moral leadership. Constraints of time and space together with the rapid obsolescence of knowledge in some areas of science and technology have created a huge demand for different courses from different institutions in the distance mode. He understood the need for a working digital library system that alone can, in the long run, provide the kind of access required for a Knowledge Centered Society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We here at <strong>Cyber Metric Services (India) Pvt Ltd<\/strong> <strong>(CMS)<\/strong> try and emulate the ideals of this great man in our quest for training students and contributing our fair share to the enhancement of the skills of the students.
